  • Taxonomy and identification of medically important fungi
  • Endemic and opportunistic mycoses
  • Fungal infections in immunocompromised patients
  • New molecular and bioinformatics diagnostic tools
  • Antifungal therapies and resistance
  • Afternoons are devoted to practical activities in:
  • Fungal microscopy (yeasts, dermatophytes, dimorphic and black fungi)
  • Molecular identification techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, bioinformatics analysis)
